Consultants on hourly basis
Deadlines to be met, specific problems that require specialist help or just solution of temporary resource problems are the main reasons for choosing an external consultant from us – on hourly basis. On hourly basis, is the most widespread use of external consultants. There are significant advantages, but also disadvantages and thus solving projects at a fixed price might be interesting.
When
- High-risc projects.
- Deadlines that must be met.
- Lack of internal expertise / resources or desire to release them to other tasks.
- Temporary lack of resources.
- Desire for onsite problem solving.
- High demand for security in regard to information.
- Difficult definable solutions / tasks.
Advantages
- High expertise, typically significantly higher than existing within the company.
- Get rid of drawing on existing staff resources.
- Time-limited (without long commitment periods or terminations).
- Solving tasks when the need arises.
- Can e.g. be combined with fixed price solutions.
Economy
It is difficult to give an exact price on what a consultant or project costs. It is factors such as: skills, duration, demand, location, complexity, task type, middlemen etc. which all influence the final price.
We neither place us among the cheapest or the most expensive providers. Our philosophy is: you get what you pay for – and with us, usually a little more, in the form of: quality, advice and speed.
The typical price range is within DKK. 750, – 1.200 per hour. That does not mean it can’t vary to one and other side. A standard development task is inherently cheaper than eg. An architecture or teaching task.
Naturally you will find vendors (including offshore) that can provide for a significantly lower price. Remember, however, that savings of eg. 20-40% isn’t cheaper if delivery takes correspondingly longer time and with less quality.
